Today was a simple church day with relatively less busyness for me. I'm thankful for that. This morning i had to play for worship together with joyce. Amabel was the worship leader today too. And i guess it was the first time amabel and joyce did their new roles (guitarist and worship leader).before that amabel was so nervous that she didn't feel like going up..haha...and joyce seemed cool..but i don't know lah. Anyway, i hope more people can pick up instruments and then start playing for church so our worship experience will be better and so i can focus on other responsibilities too.hehehe..
Yup, that lizard, i saw Mr Lizard again today while i was getting utensils for dinner. This time i had a good look of its tail. I got up close to 20cm away to examine the tail..haha..i wonder whether it was scared of me coz it can't move fast. Hmm..i really wonder how it felt as i went close. I know normal lizards scurry away once you're 2m away but this one looked calm as i was 20cm away from it. Hmm...poor lizard..maybe i should follow shimona's advice and scare it so the tail will drop off but then again, i don't want it to have a heart attack and die because it's already so defenceless and that means if it's scared it knows it can't run away. Imagine if you were crippled, you'll die from fright if a ghost were to appear. At least if you had legs you could run away but with no legs you're left with you and the ghost..haha...ok that's just an analogy, don't take it too seriously.
Oh yes, today one of my DVD interests came. He is a 67 year old man who is quite talkative and attends new creation church. He said the DVDs were interesting and that he had lent it to his friend too. Normally i lend people 4 DVDs each time but now i made an exception that he gets 8DVDs as he will lend 4 to his friend and then 4 for himself to watch. Well, basically he's interested to know more about SDAs but i think he thinks too highly of his pastor (Joseph Prince)..he likes dynamic preaching because he thinks its spirit-filled and shows that God is talking through him. But then i was thinking even "quiet" preachers can be powerful by their use of words. Hmm..i just feel that more and more people are getting attracted into the experience rather than God. What i mean is, ppl can come and listen to a speaker they like because his preaching is good and then not come because another "lousier" preacher is preaching. That's what is happening now you see. Alot of people come because they like the preacher's style more than they want to hear God's word. Well, of course there are some preachers that are really superficial in their content, but i'm not talking about them.
I also talked to TC today. And he was sharing one analogy that i found rather amusing. You know the well-known advice about the sea having other fishes? Well, the person with the fishing rod represents the guys and the fishies represent the girls. So when a guy likes a girl, he would cast his rod to that particular fish. But the problem is, the fish may not bite the bait as it has the priviledge to choose the best bait to bite. heehhe..yup, that's what he told me. Some words of wisdom from the grandmaster..hahaha
