me vegetarian?not yet..

It was another frustrating time with the violin. But this time i made a little progress as i was able to get a more comfortable hold and could balance the violin using my chin and shoulder only. The problem is i don't think i'm holding it with maximum comfort still and i'm dying to find out how. I spent most of my hour adjusting the shoulder rest and positioning the violin on my shoulder. The rest was playing the C scale again. Ahhh...i hope practise would make me comfortable or i really need to get a teacher..just that i don't want a teacher as i can learn it at my own pace and i don't want to go for classes right now. Another choice is to drop by Mr Lee's violin classes on saturdays but then i'm not sure whether he'll take time off to teach me then as he has 10 other students in there. Shucks...i'm starting to realise that it's much harder to play violin than a guitar on your own.

As for the rest of the day, i had to wake up early to attend the Power up your Health seminar at YWC. Over there we learnt benefits of a vegetarian diet. This includes lower risk of cancer, diseases, high cholesterol, high blood pressure. Yes i do know of these advantageous of getting into the vegetarian lifestyle, but still there is the inertia to include meat in my diet. I guess it's about convenience and satiety. When i go out it's easy to order a dish with meat whereas if it's a plant-based dish, it's most probably yong tao fu only or the mixed veggie rice. I eat the mixed veggie rice often but i include a portion of meat there. I can't imagine having no meat because the thought of becoming thinner scares me as i may not be getting enough calories. And eating yong tau fu seems unable to fully gratify my appetite and caloric intake unless i order another bowl. Oh well..i'm still very unsure about all this and not clear of the path to take (including not losing weight) if i get rid of meat altogether. Another reason why it's hard is because my family are not vegetarian too, so they either cook fish or chicken. Hmm..i guess if i were to become a vegetarian, it has to depend on my future partner..niack!
